Privacy policy

What happens to the information you send us through this website.

We're updating this policy

We’re rewriting this to match our new website. Everything below is accurate today. If you have a question about your information in the meantime, ring us on 07506 106853 and we’ll answer it.

Who we are

Kindness Counts UK is a charity registered with the Charity Commission in England, number 1195961. Our registered address is 138 Victoria Road West, Thornton-Cleveleys, Lancashire FY5 3LG.

Michelle and Polly are responsible for the information you send us.

What this website collects

Browsing the site: nothing at all. This website sets no cookies, uses no analytics and includes no third-party trackers. Reading these pages tells us nothing about you.

Using a form: what you type. Depending on the form, that may include your name, email address, phone number, postal address, and — for bookings and grant applications — information about children, such as how many are coming and their ages.

What we do with it

Anything you send through a form is emailed straight to Michelle and Polly. It is not stored on this website, and there is no database behind it.

Inside the charity, requests are seen by our board and by our Business Development Manager. Nobody outside the charity is given access to them.

We use it to reply to you, to arrange your booking, or to consider your grant application. We don’t sell it, share it for marketing, or pass it to anyone else — except where safeguarding law requires us to, which is set out in our safeguarding policy.

How long we keep it

Grant applications: seven years. Grants are charity money, and we keep the paperwork long enough to answer any question about how it was spent.

Booking requests: deleted once the booking has happened. The exception is a regular booking — if you come every week, we keep your details for as long as that arrangement runs.

If you’d like your information deleted sooner, ring us and we’ll do it.

Your rights

You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Ring 07506 106853 or email pollykindnesscountsuk@gmail.com.

If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
