Admin
The paperwork that keeps a charity legal and running.
IT
Keeping things working, which is a job in any organisation.
Events
The talent contest, fundraisers and everything at the hubs.
Merchandise
Making and selling the handmade gifts at Hub 3.

“It brought back confidence I was suppressing”
When I was first invited to join Mugs and Mates as a service user, I was feeling pretty low. Once I got to trust the guys, I was able to open up about my problems without fear of the confidentiality being broken.
My mental health improved greatly over a few months, and then I started volunteering with Kindness Counts themselves. This really helped me because it has brought back confidence that I was suppressing due to the health problems I was, and still am, dealing with.
If it wasn’t for the invite to join Mugs and Mates then I doubt I would feel as positive as I do now.

We're looking for help right now
Two things we especially need a hand with at the moment: our busy charity shop, and promoting the charity in the local community.
Every hour you give helps us spread kindness and support others. Pop into the hub, or ring Polly and she’ll tell you what we need.
What we ask
Not much, honestly
Time, as much or as little as you have. Some volunteers are here most days, some do one event a year. Both are useful.
A DBS check. Depending on the role that’s an Enhanced, Standard or Basic check. We’ll sort it — you don’t need to have one already.
That’s it. No experience needed, no interview panel, no minimum commitment.
How to join us
Come and see us
Volunteering with us starts with a conversation, in person. There’s no online application form, and that’s deliberate.
Come to the hub any time we’re open and ask for Polly or Michelle. We’ll sit down with you, fill the form in together and talk about what you’d like to do. It takes about ten minutes, and you’ll meet the people you’d be working alongside.
